Staying healthy
Taking proactive steps with annual checkups and preventive care can greatly improve your overall health and well-being. The Verizon medical plans cover preventive care at 100% for in-network providers (and out-of-network providers in the PPO, HDP and Surest Copay plans). Regular screenings can help detect potential health issues early, when they’re easier to treat and there’s a better chance to prevent more serious conditions from developing.
Know your numbers
As part of regular preventive care, your health care provider will monitor health metrics such as body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, blood sugar (A1C) and cholesterol. These numbers can give you and your provider important insights into your health and risk factors for various conditions, including diabetes and heart disease.
Talk to an expert
When you need help with your health care, reach out to an Anthem health guide or UHC advocate. They can help you find in-network doctors and services, schedule an appointment, understand your benefits and access wellness programs. To get started, call the number on the back of your ID card.
For help with your condition, you can connect with a dedicated nurse who will work with you, your family and your providers to help you understand your treatment plan and find resources to assist in your recovery.
Access care from anywhere
All Verizon medical plans provide options for telehealth. It’s easy to schedule a video visit with a doctor or therapist through your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Maintain your mental health
Mental health influences all aspects of your well-being. Use your resources to combat stress, anxiety, depression and other challenges.
